Dying is natural, we humans are different than other animals on earth. We have a conscious and we have the understanding of the environment, including the understanding of death. I believe that knowing about death can be beneficial to us humans. With the understanding of death, we use our technologies to prolong life, while other animals are living by fate. We have the ability to drug ourselves until the very last breath. But, can we really say living a long life is living a good one? You can live a long life and it could just be a life that lust for death. Recognizing death will make us live longer but that doesn't mean we will have a good experience living long.
When you get old, your body becomes fragile, and your senses becomes null. You transition yourself back to the beginning, being like a kid again. Your children, now grown up, sees you as a child and ignores you most of the time. In society you are the nobodies whose clock is ticking. You can't help but to think of death that will relieve you of the pain. If you live this long your friends and others will be long dead and you will soon to join them. This depressing situation does make one gloomy, but knowing about death can also be beneficial.
To those who see death as a positive thing, then death can improve the attitude needed to live a good life. Knowing about death and realizing the truth, one can live everyday to the fullest, never wasting a minute and only sleeping when necessary.
No matter what anyone thinks, it's ultimately up to the individual what his input on death is. If you have a positive attitude about life and death then you will probably be better off. Constantly reminding yourself of death can make you insane, drowning yourself in misery when you shouldn't need to.
I believe death should be search be everyone carefully, define what things in your life makes it worth wild and stick to it. Don't pursue the things that makes others happy, because your happiness is more important than anything else. Basically, care for yourself before you care for others is what I'm trying to say.
